Green Brook Faculty and All-Stars Defeat Township Heroes in the Battle of Green Brook's Finest
In the Inaugural Battle of Green Brook’s Finest March Madness Basketball Game, the Green Brook Faculty defeated Green Brook Township Council and Emergency Service 43-33. The Faculty opened up a 15-point lead before halftime to cruise to the first win in what will become an annual event.
The real show was during the halftime game where the eighth-grade All Stars defeated the Township team 39-23 in an entertaining game. The All Stars were led by Patrick Meyers with 11 points and Julio Montes with eight points. Dylan Cruz added five points, and Julia Stasil led the girls with four points. Other scorers were Kaylee McLaughlin, Sunny Murray, Alec Pezzuti, Alyssa Murray, and Samantha Wilson.
To be sure, the Green Brook Township team showed tremendous heart in playing two separate games in one night--graciously accepting a numerical disadvantage at times in the game against the eighth-graders, as at one point twelve students took the court at once.
A big thank you goes out to Mr. Chris Fox of Green Brook Middle School for organizing this wonderful event to benefit the Green Brook Education and Athletic Foundation.
Students show off their talents at the 2nd GBEAF Coffee House Event
Students, teachers, administrators and members of the Green Brook community came together to show off their talents at the second GBEAF Coffee House held at GBMS on Friday, February 24th. The audience was entertained with tunes from Mamma Mia to Strawberry Avalanche by Owl City, and, of course, a selection of favorites from our very own Mr. Lamberti. Guests enjoyed coffee and treats while tapping their feet – and sometimes even dancing – to the music! As a special treat, they got to experience Superintendent Dr. Labbe as Elvis, whose rendition of “Twist and Shout” had the crowd on their feet! Thanks to all the people who participated and helped to make this event a success. Please be sure to join us at our next event – The Battle of Green Brook’s Finest (link to Events Page flyer).
